Blogger: Georgia Doll
Radio Personalities Georgia Doll, Queen Regine, and SydniC. along with a special guest, @overthetopodis (Tanaka), all gave meaningful advice and information to the incoming freshmen of Clark Atlanta University. [We have adopted their official name as The Deuce Deuce Club] This broadcast powered by WSTU Radio and The Check In Radio Show gave insight on the do's and dont's in college, what to expect, friendships, relationships, classes, parties, campus safety, and everything in between. This extensive broadcast allowed incoming freshmen to call in and ask questions about college, the best places to eat, if getting a job is a good idea as a freshman, and places to visit while in Atlanta, GA.
All co-hosts on the show gave meaningful advice and input based on their matriculation and their experiences at Clark Atlanta University. Georgia Doll congratulated all incoming freshmen on their success on being accepted to the institution and encouraged them all to finish the race by graduating high school, receiving the funds needed to become financially enrolled, and finally getting to CAU to become an official panther. SydniC. gave everyone advice on getting involved on and off campus and remaining involving because it makes all the difference in college as far as networking, landing internships and possibly jobs, as well as meeting people and making new bonds and friends. Queen Regine made sure the listeners knew what places and attractions around Atlanta, GA was fun and great to visit in order to explore the city. Tanaka gave the listeners a pep talk on maintaining their GPA, but also be involved while maintaining it. All co-hosts gave different advice, but collectively, all advice will help incoming freshmen to prepare for this next step and journey in their lives.
The amount of support from this broadcast was far bigger than The Check In Radio Show expected. Many listeners from all over called in to ask questions, many incoming freshmen from a group me by the name of "OG CAU20" participated in our live discussion via twitter and by calling in, and we answered tweets from the @OfficialCAU20 Twitter Page. On behalf of WSTU Radio, The Check In Radio Show, and Georgia Media Agency, we all want to thank everyone who tuned in and made the special broadcast a complete success. We can't wait to meet you all in the fall!
